In some embodiments, the polypeptides are anchored to the cell membrane by a GPI linkage where the typical hydrophobic C-terminal amino acid residues are cleaved from the propeptide and the C-terminus of the polypeptide is covalently linked to glycosylphosphatidylinositol.
